Good Afternoon! All students in grades 6 through 8 will begin the South Carolina College and Career Ready Assessment or SC READY on TOMORROW, April 12th with a text-dependent analysis field test. SC READY testing will continue on Tuesday, May 10, Wednesday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 17. In addition to SC READY, students in grade 6 will take the South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards or SCPASS in science on Wednesday, May 18. Please be sure your child gets plenty of sleep, eats a good breakfast, and arrives at school on the appropriate days and on time which is by 8:00 a.m. All students must bring their district-issued Chromebook with them and ensure that their Chromebook is fully charged. During testing students may not be in possession of any electronic device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images, or storing images. If brought to school, these devices will be collected by the test administrator and returned after each test session is complete. Good Morning! We just wanted to remind you that student's who are trying out for Cheerleading and wish to ride the Shuttle Bus from WMS to AHS MUST have proper documentation to do so. A Parent or Guardian MUST come to the school to fill out the Bus Service Request Form. Written notes will not be accepted. At this time, Abbeville City Police Department has let us know that we are safe to lift the lockout. Wright Middle School is now under normal operations. We would like to thank everyone for your cooperation and support. Thank you and Go Wildcats!
Good morning. Wright Middle School was alerted to a robbery that took place within a mile of the school. The school has been secured and as a precaution we are moving to lockout mode. Students will be able to move throughout the building but we will stop movement into or out of the building. We will notify you when the city police says it is safe to lift the lockout. Dear WMS Parents/Guardians,
In order to ensure the safety of our students and school, several things will be in effect immediately:
1) All students who have cellphones will secure their phones in their lockers during the school day. Any violation will result in disciplinary action and confiscated cell phones will be available for parent/legal guardian (MUST be parent/legal guardian) pick-up no sooner than the end of the school day of which it was taken.
2) Faculty and staff will be on duty throughout the school day at various locations within the school.
3) Any student involved in a physical altercation will receive the appropriate disciplinary action, per the Student Code of Conduct, which is found online in the Students' Rights & Responsibilities Handbook. In addition to the disciplinary action of the school, the student will also be referred to law enforcement.
Our #1 priority is the safety of our students. Optimal learning can only occur when the environment is conducive to student learning at all times. We appreciate your understanding and we know you are fully committed, as are we, in providing the best learning experience for our students. Thank you in advance for supporting our school. Parents, please be reminded when dropping off and picking up car riders, please do so in the designated car rider lines. Please pull all the way up so that you are directly behind the car in front of you being sure not to leave an excessive amount of space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. There will be NO TRACK PRACTICE TODAY. Track Practice for today has been cancelled.
The 2022 Miss WMS & Miss AHS Pageant will be held tomorrow night in the Cultural Center Auditorium at Lander University. Tickets are $15 and are available for purchase today AT AHS and tomorrow at the door. Doors will open at 4:30.
